As part of events for the commemoration of the Legal Year, the Commonwealth Magistrates’ and Judges’ Association on Thursday, 9th February, 2023 kick started a training for Gambian Magistrates in dealing with vulnerable witnesses. The training also seeks to improve the knowledge of the Magistrates on the proposed Sentencing Guidelines in relation to Theft and Assault as well as the approaches to the imposition of fines and compensation and the granting or refusing of bail.
